Horsepower, torque and fuel

American Car Freak

Chevy hybrid wears green well.

The Chevy Equinox Fuel Cell has been honored recently with the Green Car Journal’s “Green Car Vision Award. Which is rather unheard of given the limited production of the “Green” Equinox because the award usually goes to cars that are mass produced like the Prius. The Chevy beat out the Honda FCX Clarity,BMW Hydrogen 7, Phoenix Electric SUT, and the Prius.

Not only does the Green Chevy Equinox meet all of the GM fuel cell powertrain requirements it also has over a 50,000 mile service life. Making it not a shade below your standard GM car or truck but possibly a shade or two above. With roof and rail side impact air bags and four wheel ABS braking systems and sure clear signs.

GM currently producing over 150 Green Chevy’s Fuel Cell babies in a event called “Project Driveway”. Another part of “Project Driveway” is the Cadillac Provoq.

The facts on the Green Chevy Equinox Fuel Cell is that it has a range of 200 miles between fill-ups and can get up to 100mph (NICE! that’s what I call “Green Speed”). And seeing how it doesn’t produce exhust it has slots going across the back that has WATER coming out the back. Pretty cool!

This is just on of many example that we’ll discuss here on American Car Freak that we’ll cover and go over to get this country still cranking out the RPM’s but not the smog and the oil using cars that we have today.
