Horsepower, torque and fuel

American Car Freak

Ford Escape Hybrids and what makes them great.

The Ford Escape Hybrid is the best SUV out there it is the former car of the year and was the first available hybrid suv of 2006 and 2005. And is also one of the greenest cars out in the market today with it’s recyclable materials to help make it’s seats and others aspects and also the powertrain has taken the market by storm.

In 2008 The Escape has been redesigned and repackaged for the car market and has even dropped the price on average $2,000 bucks per ride. There are some also some GREAT incentives offered from both Ford and your state that you live in. And with Toyota hybrids soon losing their incentives though the goverenment is a prime time for Ford as well as the other auto makers to attempt to drive a stake between Toyota and the American Auto makers.

The Ford Escape Hybrid has a 2.3 liter gas engine which will get you about 35 mpg and preforms just as well as the 200 HP 4.0 liter standard Ford Escape.

With the two engine setup one turns the wheels and one turns the actual motor to burn the little gas that the hybrid does use.  And with it’s transmission the eCVT which stands for Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission.

The Escape Hybrid also uses kinetic energy of regenerative braking to recharge it’s batteries and help to be more fuel efficient.

With all of the other aspects of the Ford Escape, Ford also plans on making a quick buck off of the pattening concepts used on the Escpae that will help for get cash for any other company using ideas on their hybrids.

Though you are usuallying paying a bit more for the “hybrid” status you also get money back on tax rebates and at the point of purchase as we stated before in the articles and in this one as well.
