Ford the innovator of the V-8 is slowly starting to pull the out of their lines. Ford plans on introducing a new form of technology soon and will be making 500,000 per year with this new technology.

What’s the new engine? Ford is investing big time into gas turbo charged direct-injection engines otherwise known as the GTDI. The reason for this engine change? Good news more bang for your buck. The GDTI improves gas mpg and helps with engine downsizing. The 2.0 liter GDTI can go as well if not better than the current 3.0 liter Ford currently runs in their models. And the more ever popular 3.5 can now go right up there with the 4.6 liter V8 that most Mustangs run.
The GDTI is even being called to be better than a hybrid or a disel giving drivers more mpg as previously stated. And when it comes to the tourqe that these rides put out the GDTI can compete from the line with them given the technology behind the engine is less turbo lag and more faster compressions for more boost.
But don’t worry gearheads the V8 will still be used in some low production cars and trucks. But we here at the ACF feel like it’s a great move for Ford and it’s an even better move for the people who care about the need for speed and not wanting to have their rides chug the gas.
