The best thing I can tell you to do when it comes to buying part from anyone is don’t, don’t don’t did I say DON’T! But a part from a dealership. They jack the price up out the roof and then they say it’ll take time to get in even. Then when the part does come in it might not even be painted and if it has to be painted that’s where they get their money from you.

The best place I can say where to get spare and used parts from a rather unlikely place but that place where cars go to die. The JUNKYARD. I once had to get a headlight for a car I had. The dealership told me it cost a 135 bucks for the light. I went to a junkyard where the guy told me that he could get it for 70 bucks. My mouth dropped to the floor and he said that I could get the next business day. I said ok and I got the light mind you not a used old junk light that was taken off a model out in the back this was straight from Ford (still in the box). I installed the light and it worked perfectly. Another example that I can give was on a hood that I had to get the hood plus getting it painted would run by about 400 bucks! I went back to the same Junkyard and the guy said roughly the same price about 70 - 75 bucks non-painted. But nevertheless I could take it to any garage that paints stuff and get it painted for way less than 325 dollars.

Another good way to get parts is from here (the net). You can find all kinds of sites with all kinds of parts that you can buy. Car parts are a huge industry and on top of that with the economy getting worse and the ability to buy a new car is getting harder and harder. Therefore you’ll see alot more people holding on to their cars and the need for car parts will skyrocket. I understand that this will become a big issue here in the states and that’s why I’m going to make an effort to do the research for you guys and in a up and coming article I’ll tell you the best place to buy parts on the net.
