I’m sure you’ve all seen the Chrysler 300’s on the road and if not you’ve certainly seen a Chrysler product on the road in the last several years of some sort. Today everyone we’re going to discuss why the American Car Freak feels like why the Chrysler brand isn’t any better if not worse than a KIA. Now I’m not going to go after the design cause I must admit they do have some attractive cars but it’s not enough for me to want to buy one. I have seen too many cars on the road looking like crap, and more importantly sounding like crap.

The cars are engineered to fail I believe. They have had so many recalls on the Chrysler’s and Intrepids that it’s gotten the attention of some countries governments like Canada and here in the U.S. Chrysler is certainly in the passenger seat while the big 3 drive the market into the new century. They just don’t design the cars to last only look nice on a shelf but not of the ground so us kids can play with them and see what they’re made of. They remind me of the weird furniture that your aunt and uncle never wanted you to sit on. And when you finally did you heard they chair or the couch makes weird noises and odd smells like the Chrysler Concorde’s did a couple of years back.
Dodge is no different, they are made by the same company on the same line and they are recalled just as bad. My friend once had a 1997 Dodge Ram back in 2000. When he got rid of the truck you had to pull the drivers side door UP in the air and then close it cause it was actually coming off it’s hinges. And he had to have the transmission replaced at only 45,000 miles and the engine was constantly burning oil. Now is this to say that he changed his trucks oil at 3,000 miles and so on? No I’m sure he didn’t but I know of people that wait 5 times (15,000 miles) as long to get theirs done. Both Dodge and Chrysler were bought out by several years back by Daimler who also owns Mercedes-Benz. Now I most find it ironic that Daimler owns both the “best” car company and one of the not worst but certainly one of the most lacking in quality car companies (Chrysler) and even now a days not even being able to merit to be one of the big 3.
What must change? Chrysler must step it up and take control. Like the days of old their time back then was prime and their cars…bad ass! But now with all their problems they NEED to own up to the fact and then Chrysler needs to press on and Chrysler needs to reinvent the wheel so to speak. Stop trying to beat Ford and Toyota and just try and make themselves and the big wigs of Chrysler happy with what they’re putting out on the road. Their prices are ok but I’d rather spend big money on a truck that will last than a truck that WON’T and will then be a investment that most families cannot afford these days.
Hey, why not subscribe to the American Car Freak RSS feed?
I have to disagree with you there. I own a Dodge Charger SRT8 and out of the 5 cars that I’ve owned in my life (including Ford, Chevy, and Pontiac), it has been the most reliable, fun, and just flat out badass car that I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning. I get compliments on the car everytime I drive it.
In short, all domestic car companies short-change here and there. You could just as easily get a lemon from Ford.
